According to the mythological story, Bholenath (Lord Shiva) comes here to rest at night after traversing the three worlds. It is said that this is the only temple on earth where Shiva-Parvati play Chausar (dice) every day. After the evening Shayan Aarti (resting ritual), Chaupad (a type of board game) is laid out here daily, and the Garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) is closed.
