In India, two types of Panchang are followed. In the North India Panchang, the month starts after Purnima, while in the South India Panchang, the month starts after Amavasya, this is the reason why there is a difference of 15 days in these two Panchangs. According to scriptures, performing Rudrabhishek on this sacred day is highly auspicious and beneficial.
