Shaktipeeth Gupt Navratri Ashtami Special - Day 8 Kavach Argala Keelak Stotra Path and Chandi Havan for Protection from Accidents, Diseases and Life Threats

According to the Vedic Panchang, Gupt Navratri begins in the Shukla Paksha of the month of Ashadha. During these nine days of the festival, different forms of Maa Durga are worshipped secretly, which is why this festival is called Gupt Navratri. On the eighth day of Gupt Navratri, there is a tradition of performing a special puja of Maa Durga. The most miraculous mantras and shlokas to please Maa Durga can be found in the Shri Durga Saptashati. This scripture is described as a living embodiment of Devi Bhagwati. It is believed that the complete recitation of the Durga Saptashati yields the same auspicious results as reciting the Kavach, Argala, and Keelak with devotion.

According to scriptures if one recites the Durga Saptashati during Gupt Navratri, they will receive the divine blessings of Goddess Durga, and all the troubles in their home will be removed. Therefore, many people recite the Kavach, Argala, and Keelak during Gupt Navratri to seek forgiveness from Devi Durga and to obtain protection from accidents, diseases, and life threats. Performing the Chandi Havan along with the Kavach, Argala, and Keelak Stotra Path is considered very auspicious. Therefore, the Kavach, Argala, and Keelak Stotra Path, and Chandi Yagya will be organized at Shaktipeeth Kali Ghat Temple on the Ashtami Tithi of Gupt Navratri. Participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and receive the divine blessings of Maa Durga.

The Kali Ghat Temple, located in Kolkata, West Bengal, is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Hinduism and is considered a highly significant pilgrimage site. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, revered as the deity of power, energy, and destruction. According to mythological tales, it is believed that here, the right toe of Goddess Sati fell when Lord Shiva was carrying her burnt body and performing the Tandava dance in grief. For this reason, this place is included among the extremely sacred 51 Shakti Peethas. The temple houses an idol of Goddess Kali in a fierce form, where she is seen standing with her right foot on Lord Shiva's chest, adorned with a garland of soft skulls around his neck, holding some axes and severed heads in her hands, with some skulls tied around her waist. Her tongue is protruding outward with drops of blood dripping from it, made of gold.

In 1847, Maharani Rasmani of Janbazar had the temple constructed. The Kali Ghat Temple holds immense religious and cultural significance. For centuries, it has been a center of attraction for devotees who come here to fulfill their wishes. Worship of Goddess Kali at Kali Ghat liberates devotees from fear, negativity, and malevolent energies, bringing peace, prosperity, and success in life. Additionally, the temple is a symbol of Bengal's cultural heritage and hosts grand celebrations during religious festivals, especially Durga Puja and Kali Puja.
