According to legends, the first man of the world, Svayambhu Manu, and the first woman, Shatarupa, were the ancestors from whom all the people of the world originated. They both used to chant the Dwadasakshara Mantra with devotion. The Vishnu Sahasranama describes the 1000 names of Lord Vishnu and their glory. These names are available in Sanskrit as the Vishnu Sahasranama. Reciting the Vishnu Sahasranama brings blessings of fame, happiness, wealth, prosperity, peace, and stability in life. The 'Sudarshan Chakra' is mentioned in the Rigveda as a symbol of Lord Vishnu and the cycle of time. The Sudarshan Chakra is Lord Vishnu’s weapon, which, once released, destroys the enemy and returns. Performing Sudarshan Havan brings prosperity and stability in one's life. Therefore, on the auspicious day of Thursday, 11,000 Vishnu Dwadashakshar Mantra Jaap, Vishnu Sahasranama and Sudarshan Havan will be organised at the Shri Digh Vishnu Temple in Mathura.
