Gupt Navratri Navami Special - Day 9 Maa Matangi Tantra Yukta Havan and Maa Saraswati Puja for Academic Excellence and Growth in Professional Life

Gupt Navratri begins from the Shukla Paksha of the month of Ashadh. It is believed that during these nine days, tantric sadhana of the ten Mahavidyas is done secretly, hence this festival is called Gupt Navratri. Among the ten Mahavidyas, the ninth one is Maa Matangi, and therefore, worshipping her on the ninth day is considered highly auspicious. Matangi is often referred to as the Tantric Saraswati, associated with knowledge, arts, music, tantra, and speech in Tantra Sadhana. Worshipping her is believed to bless devotees with success in higher education, careers, business development, and prosperity. Similarly, worshipping Maa Saraswati also grants devotees blessings for success in education and professional life.

According to mythological tales, once Lord Vishnu and Maa Lakshmi visited Mount Kailash to meet Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati. Lord Vishnu brought some food items with him, which he offered to Lord Shiva. When Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati consumed the food given by Vishnu, some of it fell on the ground. From the fallen food, a dark-complexioned Devi was born, who was known as Matangi Devi. Other scriptures mention that Devi Matangi was the daughter of Rishi Matang, the guru of Hanumanji and Shabari. Matangi Devi was born at Matang Rishi's place with the blessings of Goddess Durga. Being the tantric form of devi Saraswati, worshipping Maa Matangi during Gupt Navratri brings extremely auspicious results. Therefore, on the auspicious occasion of Gupt Navratri, the Maa Matangi Tantra Yukta Havan and Maa Saraswati Puja will be organised at the Kalimath Temple in Rudraprayag. Participate in this puja through Sri Mandir and receive blessings from the Devi for academic excellence and growth in professional life.

Kalimath Temple, Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand
Kalimath Temple is situated in Rudraprayag district, around 25 kilometres from the town of Guptkashi. The temple is dedicated to Maa Kali, who is revered as a fierce deity that destroys evil forces and protects her devotees. It is the only place where Maa Kali is situated along with her sisters Mata Lakshmi and Maa Saraswati. There is a divine rock at a height of eight kilometres from this temple. This Sheela is known as Kalishila. It is believed that at this place, Goddesses troubled by Shumbha-Nishumbha and Raktabija demons had done penance to Maa Bhagwati.

Maa Bhagwati then appeared in Kalishila as a 12-year-old girl, Kalishila has 64 instruments of deities. Hearing about the terror of the Asuras, Devi's body turned black with anger and she took a form of rage. Devi killed both the demons in the war. The devi was empowered by these 64 instruments. The most interesting thing about the Kalimath Mandir is that it does not have any idols. The Kalimath temple has a kund, which is covered with silver board / Sri yantra. Devotees worship the Kunda inside the temple, it is only opened on the Ashtami during the whole year in the Shardiya Navratras. The divine goddess is taken out and worship is also done only at midnight, then only the chief priests are present.
