It is believed that this divine encounter took place on a Tuesday in the month of Jyeshtha, marking the beginning of Hanuman's unwavering devotion to Lord Ram. This particular Tuesday is even more special because it also coincides with Kalashtami. Due to this rare conjunction, the day is also highly auspicious for the worship of Maa Guhya Kali. 🔱 When Lord Hanuman Invoked the Power of Maa Kali
According to the Puranas, the demonic sorcerers Ahiravan and Mahiravan from Patal Lok, under the orders of Ravan, kidnapped Lord Ram and Lakshman with the intention of offering them as a sacrifice. At that time, the Vanar Sena had fallen into a deep magical slumber, but Hanuman remained awake and set out for Patal Lok. Upon reaching there, Hanuman learned that the demons could only be defeated if five lamps burning in five different directions were extinguished at the same time. Hanuman then invoked Maa Kali, who blessed him with her Panchamukhi (five-faced) form. In this form, Hanuman used his five faces to extinguish the lamps simultaneously and destroyed the demons, thereby rescuing Lord Ram and Lakshman safely. With Maa Kali’s blessings, Hanuman was able to vanquish Ahiravan and Mahiravan.
