During the ceremony, the Rudrabhishek will be performed using specially sanctified offerings such as Ganga water, Godavari water, Panchamrit, Bilva leaves, sacred ash (bhasma), and lotus flowers. Sage Gautam prayed for the Ganga to manifest at that very place. Mother Ganga agreed, but on one condition — she would only appear if Lord Shiva Himself resided there.
