Mahalaya Amavasya 4 Moksha Tirth Special 4 Shivalaya Shiv Rudrabhishek For Well-Being and Abundance in Family

In Hinduism, the Amavasya is considered extremely important. The Amavasya that falls in the month of Ashwin is known as Mahalaya Amavasya, and it holds great significance in Sanatan Dharma. This day marks the last day of Pitru Paksha and is regarded as the most auspicious day for the peace of the souls of the ancestors. Those who, for any reason, are unable to perform Shradh during the 15 days of Pitru Paksha or are unaware of their ancestors' death tithi can perform Shradh, Tarpan, and donate in honour of all their ancestors on this day. Additionally, this day is dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva. It is believed that by pleasing Lord Shiva during this period, one can receive blessings for happiness and prosperity in the family. Therefore, worshipping Lord Shiva on the auspicious occasion of Mahalaya Amavasya is considered highly beneficial. According to religious beliefs, the merit (punya) gained from worshipping Lord Shiva throughout the year can be attained on this auspicious day by performing Rudrabhishek. Moreover, if Rudrabhishek is performed in multiple Shiva temples on this day, it is believed that one can receive manifold blessings. Let us now understand the importance of performing Rudrabhishek in various Shiva temples on Mahalaya Amavasya as follows:

Shri Gangotri Dham, Uttarkashi: Shri Gangotri Dham is the origin place of the holy river Ganga. It is believed that this is where King Bhagirath performed penance for the salvation of his ancestors, and Lord Shiva held Maa Ganga in his matted hair.

Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, Madhya Pradesh: Omkareshwar is one of the 12th Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. It is believed that performing Rudrabhishek here fulfills a person's desires and can bestow blessings of wealth and prosperity.

Mahamrityunjaya Mahadev Temple, Kashi: In the Mahamrityunjaya Temple in Kashi, Rudrabhishek is performed with the desire to attain good health. This is the only temple in the country where Mahadev is present in the form of Mrityunjay.

Pashupatinath Mahadev Temple, Haridwar: In Hindu scriptures, it is believed that through the Rudrabhishek of Lord Pashupatinath Mahadev, devotees attain purity and liberation (moksha). Devotees believe that worship here provides protection from negative influences by the divine.
It is believed that during Rudrabhishek, whatever desire a devotee has in mind while performing the Abhishek of Lord Shiva, Lord Shiva fulfils that wish. Therefore, on the auspicious day of Mahalaya Amavasya, Sri Mandir brings you the opportunity to perform Rudrabhishek in four Shiva temples simultaneously. Take part in the Shiva Rudrabhishek in these four temples to seek Lord Bholenath's blessings for happiness and prosperity in your family.

For Family Happiness and Prosperity
Sometimes, certain households experience a lack of happiness or financial difficulties without any apparent reason. One possible cause could be pitru dosh. It is believed that performing rituals like Rudrabhishek on Mahalaya Amavasya invokes the blessings of Lord Shiva, leading to happiness and prosperity in the family. If this Rudrabhishek is performed at the four major pilgrimage sites, it becomes even more fruitful.
puja benefits
For the Peace of Ancestral Souls
Problems in people's lives often persist due to pitru dosh. No matter how hard a person tries, success remains elusive. The Puranas prescribe Rudrabhishek as a remedy for pitru dosh. It is believed that performing Rudrabhishek on Mahalaya Amavasya at the four Moksha Tirth sites brings peace to the ancestral souls and grants their divine blessings.
puja benefits
For Protection from Negative Energies
In Hinduism, Lord Shiva is worshipped as the deity who destroys evil forces and protects against negative powers. It is believed that performing Rudrabhishek at the four Moksha Tirth sites on Mahalaya Amavasya during the Pitru Paksha grants the blessing of protection from negative energies by Lord Shiva.
puja benefits
Pitru Paksha Special Panch Bhog Mahadaan
During the Pitru Paksha period, the act of giving (Daan) is considered highly significant. Religious texts state that offering food to Brahmans (Brahman Bhoj) along with feeding cows, dogs, birds, and ants is considered a meritorious act, known as Panch Bali or Panch Bhog. It is believed that when these beings are fed during Pitru Paksha, the ancestors are satisfied with the food consumed by them and bestow blessings upon their descendants.

In Sanatan Dharma, it is believed that worshipping at the major Shiva temples yields extremely auspicious results. Therefore, this time, a Maha Rudrabhishek will be organised simultaneously at four prominent Shiva temples: Gangotri Dham in Uttarakhand, Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga in Madhya Pradesh, Mahamrityunjaya Mahadev Temple in Kashi, and Pashupatinath Mahadev Temple in Haridwar, providing devotees with a profound spiritual experience.
According to ancient legends, Bhagirath performed penance at Gangotri Dham for the salvation of his ancestors, and Lord Shiva held the river Ganga in his matted locks to reduce its flow. At the Pashupatinath Mahadev Temple in Haridwar, devotees come to seek blessings from Lord Pashupatinath for happiness and prosperity in their families. Situated along the picturesque banks of the Ganga River, this temple grants devotees endless peace and prosperity through the blessings of the Lord.
Located on the banks of the Narmada River, the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga in Madhya Pradesh is believed to free devotees from all sins and bestow better health merely by its darshan. In Kashi's Mahamrityunjaya Mahadev Temple, Lord Shiva is worshipped in his form of Mrityunjaya, and it is believed that performing Rudrabhishek here offers protection from diseases. The sacred land of Kashi provides an opportunity to experience the unparalleled power of Lord Shiva.
Worshipping at all four of these Shiva temples simultaneously blesses devotees with happiness and prosperity in their families.
