It is said that the marriage of Shiva and Parvati took place in this huge Havan Kund (fire pit). Fire was lit in all four directions in this divine wedding ceremony. The water of these kunds is considered very pure. This is the place where the gods bathed during the marriage of Shiva-Parvati. The water of Saraswati Kund is believed to come from the navel of Vishnu. This further increases its religious importance.
