This time, the puja will take place at the Mayapati Hanuman Temple in Ujjain, where Hanuman Ji is enshrined in his Mayapati form. According to legends, when Hanuman was going to get the Sanjeevani booti to save the injured Lakshmana, he encountered a demon named Kalanemi on the way. Kalanemi, who was skilled in Maya Vidya, attempted to stop Hanuman with his maya. Hanuman, understanding the demon’s illusion, defeated him. Since then, Hanuman has been known as Mayapati, and he is revered in this form in the Mayapati Hanuman Temple. Just like Hanuman saved Lakshmana by getting the Sanjeevani booti for him, chanting the Mrit Sanjeevani Mantra in this temple is believed to bless devotees with good health and protection from obstacles. Chanting this mantra specifically on Saturdays is considered highly auspicious. According to another legend, during the Treta Yuga, Ravana bound Shani Dev along with other planets. After some time, when Hanuman ji reached Lanka in search of Maa Sita, he also released Shani Dev from Ravana's captivity. Filled with gratitude, Shani Dev promised Hanuman that his malefic effects would not affect Hanuman’s devotees. Therefore, On the auspicious day of Shani Trayodashi, 1008 Mrit Sanjeevani Mantra Jaap, 1008 Shani Mool Mantra Jaap, and Havan will be organised in the Mayapati Hanuman Temple, Ujjain.
