As per religious belief, the temple was constructed in the Treta Yuga during the times of Lord Ram. Today, the temple houses the feet sculptures modeled as a pind. Puranic mythology tells that Lord Hanuman visited this temple every Tuesday to offer prayers to Jalpa Devi. Thus, the temple observes hordes of worshippers on Tuesdays.
