Shradh Navami Jyotirlinga and Narmada Ghat Combo Special Pitru Dosh Shanti Mahapuja and Shiv Rudrabhishek For Peace of Ancestor's Souls and Well-being of the Family

In Sanatan Dharma, Pitru Paksha holds special significance. This period is considered the most auspicious time for the peace of ancestors' souls. According to scriptures, during Pitru Paksha, our ancestors descend from the Pitru Lok to Earth and are pleased with the Shradh, Tarpan, and Pinddaan performed by their descendants, bestowing their blessings. Every tithi of Pitru Paksha has its own special significance, among which Shradh Navami Tithi is one. On this day, Shradh is performed for those ancestors who passed away on the Navami Tithi of any month. According to religious texts, Pitru Dosh occurs due to the unfulfilled desires and negative actions of ancestors. Pitru Dosh is believed to cause financial troubles, tension in relationships, conflicts, and ongoing health problems. It is believed that to get rid of Pitru Dosh and for the peace of the ancestors' souls, one should perform Pitru Dosh Shanti Puja.

According to the Garuda Purana, performing Rudrabhishek during the Pitru Paksha also brings peace to the souls of ancestors. Lord Shiva is considered the supreme Deity and Mahakaal. Worshipping Him can remove all kinds of doshas. There are various rituals performed for the worship of Lord Shiva, one of which is Rudrabhishek. bathing the Shivling in the form of Rudra with holy water, milk, honey and other offerings with chanting mantras. If Rudrabhishek is performed in a Jyotirlinga, its importance increases even more. Hence, a Shiv Rudrabhishek will be organised at the Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, located on the banks of the Narmada River, along with Pitru Dosh Shanti Mahapuja at the sacred Narmada Ghat. Additionally, During Pitru Paksha, there is a tradition of performing acts of charity for ancestors. It is believed that offerings made during this time yield double the rewards. These offerings include Panch Bhog, lamp offerings (Deep Daan), and Ganga Aarti. By incorporating these additional options—such as Panch Bhog, Deep Daan, and Ganga Aarti—you can enhance the effectiveness of your puja and gain greater benefits. For the peace of the souls of your ancestors and the well-being of your family, participate in this Puja through Sri Mandir and receive the blessings of Lord Shiva.

Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and Narmada Ghat, Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh

Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga Temple and Narmada Ghat, Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh
The fourth Jyotirlinga among the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva is Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga, considered a Swayambhu lingam. It is located in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh on the island of Mandhata or Shivpuri in the Narmada River. Here, the Jyotirlinga exists in two forms. One is known as Mamleshwar and the other as Omkareshwar. Mamleshwar is located a little distance away on the southern bank of the Narmada from Omkareshwar. Despite being separate, they are counted as one. The pronunciation of 'Omkar' first emerged from the mouth of the creator Brahma. The recitation of the Vedas also begins with 'Om'. It is believed that the Narmada river itself flows here in the shape of 'Om'. People perform Pitru dosh puja here for the peace of ancestors' souls. According to scriptures, merely visiting Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga can liberate one from all sins. The glory of the Omkareshwar Kshetra is mentioned in the Skanda Purana, Shiva Purana, and Vayu Purana.

According to a mythological story, Lord Shiva comes here to rest at night after wandering through all the three worlds. It is said that this is the only temple on earth where Shiva and Parvati play the game of dice every night. After the Shayan Aarti at night, a dice board is set up here, and the Garbhgriha is closed. Surprisingly, even though no one can enter the temple at night, the dice are found scattered every day. This fact further enhances the religious significance of this temple. This is why after visiting all other pilgrimages, a visit and worship at Omkareshwar holds special importance. Pilgrims bring water from all other holy places to offer at Omkareshwar, only then are all pilgrimages considered complete; otherwise, they are considered incomplete.
