Navratri Prarambh Kali Shaktipeeth Mahanushthan 1,25,000 Dakshina Kali Beej Mantra Jaap and Tantra Yukta Mahahavan for Blessings of Unbreakable Spirit to Rise above Hardships

In Sanatan Dharma, Navratri is considered a very auspicious festival. There are four Navratris throughout the year, with Shardiya Navratri being regarded as the most significant. According to the Hindu Vedic calendar, Shardiya Navratri begins every year on the Pratipada Tithi of the Shukla Paksha in the month of Ashwin. It is said that Navratri is the most auspicious time for worshipping Maa Bhagwati Durga and during these nine days, the nine different forms of Maa Durga are worshipped. According to legend, Maa Durga fought the evil demon Mahishasura for nine days and defeated him on the tenth day. This is why devotees worship the nine forms of Maa Durga during this period to seek her blessings. Not only this, but even during the Treta Yuga, Lord Ram worshipped Maa Durga. Lord Ram prayed to the primordial energy, Maa Durga, to gain victory over Ravana. He worshipped the goddess for nine days in Rameshwaram. Pleased with Lord Ram’s devotion, the goddess blessed him with the boon of victory over Ravana.

During Navratri, special worship of Maa Dakshina Kali is also performed, who is considered a form of Durga. It is believed that worshipping her brings an end to the sorrows in the lives of her devotees. There are various reasons for her being called Dakshina Kali, including the belief that Yamaraj, the god of death who resides in the southern direction, flees upon hearing the name of Maa Dakshina Kali and he stays away from Devi's devotees. Therefore, Goddess Kali is known as Dakshina Kali. It is believed that by worshipping this form of Goddess Kali, one can receive her blessings to remove obstacles in any endeavour and fulfil their desires. Performing Dakshina Kali Beej Mantra Jaap along with a Tantra Yukta Mahahavan during the auspicious festival of Navratri is said to help one attain blessings to overcome challenges, fearlessness, courage, and confidence to face the perils of life. Therefore, on the auspicious beginning of Navratri, a 1,25,000 Dakshina Kali Beej Mantra Jaap and Tantra Yukta Mahahavan will be organised at the Shaktipeeth Kalighat Temple in Kolkata. This temple is the largest temple dedicated to Maa Kali. According to legend, when Lord Shiva was performing the Tandava dance in grief with the burnt body of Maa Sati, her right toe fell at this location. This is why it is counted among the sacred 51 Shakti Peethas. Participate in this Maha Anushtahn through Sri Mandir and receive Maa Dakshina Kali’s blessings for an unbreakable spirit to rise above hardships.

Shaktipeeth Kalighat Temple, Kolkata, West Bengal
The Kali Ghat Temple, located in Kolkata, West Bengal, is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Hinduism and is considered a highly significant pilgrimage site. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, revered as the deity of power, energy, and destruction. According to mythological tales, it is believed that here, the right toe of Goddess Sati fell when Lord Shiva was carrying her burnt body and performing the Tandava dance in grief. For this reason, this place is included among the extremely sacred 51 Shakti Peethas. The temple houses an idol of Goddess Kali in a fierce form, where she is seen standing with her right foot on Lord Shiva's chest, adorned with a garland of soft skulls around his neck, holding some axes and severed heads in her hands, with some skulls tied around her waist. Her tongue is protruding outward with drops of blood dripping from it, made of gold.

The current temple was constructed under the patronage of the Saborno Roychoudhury family & Babu Kaliproshad Dutto, with construction starting in 1798 and completing in 1809. The Kali Ghat Temple holds immense religious and cultural significance. For centuries, it has been a centre of attraction for devotees who come here to fulfil their wishes. Worship of Goddess Kali at Kali Ghat liberates devotees from fear, negativity, and malevolent energies, bringing peace, prosperity, and success in life. Additionally, the temple is a symbol of Bengal's cultural heritage and hosts grand celebrations during religious festivals, especially Durga Puja and Kali Puja.
