Shaktipeeth Kalighat Devi-Bhairav Special Maha Kaal Bhairav Pujan and Havan and Kalika Pujan for Blessings to Attain Fearlessness and Protection from Negative Energies

In Sanatan Dharma, Navratri is considered highly auspicious. Four Navratris are celebrated throughout the year, with Shardiya Navratri being the most significant. It is said that Navratri is the most sacred time for worshipping Goddess Durga, and during these nine days, the nine different forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped. During this period, the ten Mahavidyas are also worshipped. This festival holds special importance, especially for those involved in Shakti sadhana, tantric practices, and those associated with Mahakal. In the Tantra Shastra, lord Bhairav and Goddess Kali are described as extremely powerful and important deities. It is believed that during this time, Goddess Kali and Baba Kaal Bhairav protect the devotee. Their worship is said to destroy all forms of external and tantric obstacles. Lord Kaal Bhairav is considered a fierce form of Lord Shiva and is also known as the deity of time. Bhairav is also referred to as the 'God of Time,' and the name Bhairav means 'the one who removes fear.' According to the religious scriptures, just as Lord Kaal Bhairav is the fierce incarnation of Lord Shiva, similarly, Goddess Kali is the fierce form of Goddess Durga. Therefore, on the auspicious occasion of Navratri, worshipping both the deities, Lord Kaal Bhairav and Goddess Kali is considered extremely auspicious. It is believed that by worshipping Goddess Kali along with Lord Kaal Bhairav during this auspicious period, all the fears of the devotee are eliminated. Hence, it is considered essential to first worship Lord Bhairav before seeking the blessings of Goddess Durga.

According to ancient legends, Lord Shiva entrusted the responsibility of protecting all Shaktipeethas to Lord Bhairav. Hence, special worship of Kaal Bhairav is performed in all Shaktipeeth temples. Without the darshan of Kaal Bhairav, the darshan of the Devi temples is considered incomplete. Therefore, during the auspicious festival of Navratri, it is also considered important to worship Kaal Bhairav along with Goddess Kali to receive her blessings. Maha Kaal Bhairav and Maa Kali destroy all negative energies and bless the devotees with fearlessness. Therefore, Sri Mandir is organising a Maha Kaal Bhairav Puja and Havan along with Kalika Pujan at the Kalighat Shaktipeeth temple in West Bengal during the auspicious period of Navratri. According to ancient legends, the toe of Goddess Sati's right foot fell here when Lord Shiva was performing the Tandava dance with her corpse in grief. For this reason, this temple is included in the highly sacred 51 Shaktipeethas. Through Sri Mandir, participate in this puja to attain the blessings of fearlessness in life and protection from negative energies.

Shaktipeeth Maa Kalighat Temple, Kolkata, West Bengal
The Kali Ghat Temple, located in Kolkata, West Bengal, is one of the 51 Shakti Peethas in Hinduism and is considered a highly significant pilgrimage site. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Kali, revered as the deity of power, energy, and destruction. According to mythological tales, it is believed that here, the right toe of Goddess Sati fell when Lord Shiva was carrying her burnt body and performing the Tandava dance in grief. For this reason, this place is included among the extremely sacred 51 Shakti Peethas. The temple houses an idol of Goddess Kali in a fierce form, where she is seen standing with her right foot on Lord Shiva's chest, adorned with a garland of soft skulls around his neck, holding some axes and severed heads in her hands, with some skulls tied around her waist. Her tongue is protruding outward with drops of blood dripping from it, made of gold.

The current temple was constructed under the patronage of the Saborno Roychoudhury family & Babu Kaliproshad Dutto, with construction starting in 1798 and completing in 1809. The Kali Ghat Temple holds immense religious and cultural significance. For centuries, it has been a centre of attraction for devotees who come here to fulfil their wishes.
