The city of Gaya in Bihar, also known as Bodh Gaya, holds special importance for pind daan. It is believed that performing pind daan and tarpan here grants liberation to ancestors, which is why this sacred place is called Moksha Sthali. Scriptures say that apart from Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, all deities reside here. The significance of Gaya is reflected in the fact that on the banks of the Phalgu River, the Shraadh and pind daan rituals were performed for the peace and liberation of King Dasharatha’s soul.
