Following the command of Lord Shiva, he performed a rigorous penance in Varanasi. Pleased with his penance, Lord Shiva appeared in the form of a Shivling from the Khichdi, who is worshipped by the name of Gauri Kedareshwar.
🔱 It is believed that this Shivling contains the presence of not only Lord Shiva but also Gauri, Kedareshwar, Mahavishnu, Mahalaxmi, and Goddess Annapurna, as it originated from Khichdi. This is why visiting the Gauri Kedareshwar Shivling is considered very auspicious and the rituals performed here bestow blessings of improved health and mental peace.
