Pitru Paksha Moksha Puri Haridwar 101KG Khichdi Bhojan Seva

At Haridwar, where Maa Ganga first touched the earth and a son's unbroken devotion freed 60,000 souls, 101KG of Khichdi will be cooked and offered as Mahaseva.
Pitru Paksha is not about loss. It is about continuation. Your ancestor did not stop being yours when they left. The blessings that flow through your life, the path that opened before you, the protection you have felt without knowing where it came from - these are still theirs. These 16 days are when the tradition asks you to turn toward them, the way they always turned toward you, and offer something in their name from sacred ground.

Why Pitru Paksha Exists: The Story of Unanswered Hunger
Karna gave gold, jewels, and land to the entire world but never once offered food or water to his ancestors. When he reached Swarga, Indra placed a feast before him. Everything on the plate was gold. Everything in the vessel was silver. None of it was edible. Indra told him: you gave to everyone except them. Indra gave Karna 16 days to return to earth and offer what he had forgotten. Those 16 days became Pitru Paksha, the 16 days every year when the gates of Pitru Lok open and descendants are given the same chance. To offer what Karna could not.

Why 101KG Khichdi?
The Manu Smriti teaches that the ancestor receives not the food itself but its essence - the Kavya through every person who is fed. 101 people receiving Prasad in your ancestor's name means 101 simultaneous channels through which Kavya reaches the ancestral realm in a single act of Mahaseva. Khichdi is the most sattvic, most complete of offerings. What Karna should have given. What this seva places in your ancestor's name.

Why perform this Mahaseva at Haridwar>
Bhagiratha performed penance for thousands of years, out of love so complete it could not accept leaving his ancestors unreached. Maa Ganga descended here, to this ground, in answer to that devotion. Haridwar is where divine grace met a descendant's resolve and 60,000 souls were received into liberation. When you offer seva here during Pitru Paksha, it is placed on the same earth that has always known how to carry an offering home.

Through the Sri Mandir App, the complete 101KG Khichdi Bhojan Seva is performed at Haridwar during Pitru Paksha, in your name. A video reaches you within 24–48 hours.
This booking is a collective act of service, made meaningful by everyone who participates. It is a shared contribution, and not an individual offering that comes together for a higher purpose. Through this collective offering, we are able to carry this sacred initiative forward and reach many more people.
