Kamadhenu, the divine cosmic mother, is the one being in creation in whom all 33 Koti Devi-Devtas reside. Gobali is not merely an act of Gau Seva, it is an offering that simultaneously reaches every divine force that governs the ancestor's journey, through the one being who holds them all.
Shwanbali - Dog Seva
The Garuda Purana describes the dogs at Yama's threshold as the guardians of the path to the ancestral realm. Shwanbali is the offering that addresses these guardians, ensuring the ancestor's passage through the path described in the Garuda Purana is navigated with their assistance rather than their resistance.
Kaakbali - Crow Seva
The crow is the Pitru-doot, the direct messenger of the ancestors, the one being in creation that carries offerings from the mortal world to the ancestral realm. When a crow accepts the Kaakbali, it is the tradition's sign that the ancestor has received the offering. Kaakbali is the most direct confirmation in all of Shraddh that the offering has arrived.
Devadibali - Deva Seva
The Devas govern every dimension of the ancestor's journey toward liberation, each one presiding over a different aspect of the passage. Devadibali honours all of them simultaneously, seeking their collective grace for the ancestor's forward movement through every plane they traverse.
Pipeelikaadibali - Ant Seva
The smallest and most easily forgotten life in creation. Pipeelikaadibali follows the principle of Jeev-Daya - compassion for every living being, acknowledging that the ancestor's journey intersects with all of existence, not just its most visible dimensions. This Bali completes the offering by ensuring nothing in creation, however small, is left unacknowledged.

The ancestor completes their descent from Chandralok and continues toward the mortal realm. Panchbali on Pratipada places the most complete offering in their path at the very beginning of the 15-day journey.
Ashtami | 3 October 2026
The half-moon marks the midpoint of Pitru Paksha, the ancestor has completed half their journey. Panchbali on Ashtami acknowledges this crossing with an offering that reaches every dimension of their existence at the journey's centre.
Navami | 4 October 2026
Matru Navami, the tithi dedicated to the mothers of the lineage. Panchbali on Navami at Gaya Ji carries the most complete offering specifically for the maternal ancestors, on the tithi the tradition sets aside for their remembrance.
Dashami | 5 October 2026 The Garuda Purana describes Dashami as the tithi by which the ancestor has experienced every hardship of the journey. Panchbali on this day reaches across all five realms simultaneously, addressing every dimension of that hardship in a single offering.
Ekadashi | 6 October 2026
