Pitru Paksha is the sacred time when ancestors descend and depend on their family for remembrance and prayers. Shiva, worshipped as Ādi and Anta, stands at the center of this journey.
It is said that Pashupatinath is the father of all beings, sheltering both living and departed souls, while Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga in Nashik is known as the most powerful ground for Pitru Shanti rituals.
This 15-day Sankalp ensures daily Chadhava at both temples, where purohitji performs offerings on behalf of devotees. From Purnima (7 September) to Amavasya (21 September), the Pitru receive direct blessings of Lord Shiva, offering them liberation.
Devotees offer seva invite freedom from Pitru Dosh and karmic debts, while also receiving blessings for peace, prosperity, and well-being. Through this sankalp, the living honor their ancestors and connect them to Shiva’s eternal grace.
