Sawan Grahan-Amavasya Haridwar Maha Bhandara (100KG Maha Bhojan & 500L Shikanji) Seva

🙏 Amavasya has always been counted among the most powerful days for seva. This year, that weight multiplies further: Surya Grahan falls on the very same day as Sawan Amavasya, a combination that doesn't arrive often. Tradition holds that seva performed during a Grahan-Amavasya alignment reaches further and returns more - which is exactly why this year's Bhandara at Haridwar isn't being kept small. Be a part of 100KG Bhojan & 500L Shikanji Mahaseva!

📜What Scriptures Say About Seva During Grahan-Amavasya
The Vishnu Purana holds that seva performed during an eclipse is inexhaustible - it earns Akshaya Punya, merit that does not deplete with time. The Skanda Purana goes further: feeding one hungry person during an eclipse is said to equal the punya of feeding a thousand people on an ordinary day. And the Manu Smriti places Anna Seva above nearly every other form of service, stating that the merit earned through feeding another is equal to half of all sevas combined. Read together, they point to the same truth - that what is offered on this one day carries a weight most days simply cannot hold.

🍛100KG Maha Bhojan & 500 Litres Shikanji:
Sawan brings lakhs of kanwariyas and pilgrims to Haridwar - many walking for days, arriving tired, hungry, and often with little money left for a proper meal. 100KG of fresh and wholesome meals and 500L of cooling Shikanji is what it takes to make sure a meaningful number of them don't go away hungry.

🌊Why Ganga Ghat, Haridwar
Haridwar has long been called the Gateway to the Gods - the point where the Ganga first reaches the plains after descending from the Himalayas. The Padma Purana states that Anna Seva performed at Ganga Ghat earns the combined punya of all teerths together, and Haridwar itself is regarded as a Moksha Sthala, a place capable of granting liberation. To serve food here, on this specific day, is to place two rare forms of merit - the ghat's own sanctity and the day's own potency - into a single act.
