Worship on the Yamuna's banks frees the ancestor from Yamdanda, the punishment of Yamraj. But Vishram Ghat offers something beyond liberation, it offers the ancestor the grace of rest on a journey the Garuda Purana describes as long, dark, and without comfort. This is the offering that says: may your path be easier than what the scriptures describe.

Mathura is where Vishnu entered the world in his most complete human form. Dheegra Vishnu Temple holds Vishnu's grand, expansive form; Pitru Dev, the granter of ancestral liberation.
