Vrinda Kund is a sacred and peaceful place located in Vrindavan, in the Mathura district of Uttar Pradesh, India. It is around 1.5 miles west of Nandgaon and spreads over one and a half acres. This holy place includes Vrinda Kund, the Vrinda Devi Temple, and Gupt Kund. Who is Worshipped Here? Vrinda Devi, also known as Tulsi Mata, is worshipped at this temple. She is believed to be the divine goddess who manages all the pastimes (leelas) of Radha and Krishna in the Braj region.

History of Vrinda Kund

The history of Vrinda Kund goes back nearly 5,000 years. It is believed that after Lord Krishna finished his earthly pastimes, his great-grandson King Vajranabh installed Krishna’s deities across the Vraja region. Vrinda Kund is one such divine site. In the 16th century, the saint Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu came to Vraja and encouraged Srila Rupa Goswami to rediscover and restore the lost holy places, including Vrinda Kund and Gupt Kund.
