The temple was established in 1580 AD. According to legend, the King of Bharatpur discovered a beautiful idol of Radha Rani in his royal treasury. He then brought the idol to the ashram of Sri Shyamananda Prabhu and arranged a symbolic marriage of Radha Rani with Sri Shyam Sundar on the holy day of Vasant Panchami. To honor them, the king also built a beautiful temple. The deities worshipped here are believed to have appeared from the heart of Radha Rani and are considered very special.

By Air The nearest airport is Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi. From there, you can take a cab or taxi directly to Vrindavan. Local transport options are also available. By Train The closest railway station is Mathura Cantt. From the station, visitors can take a bus, auto, or taxi to reach the temple easily. By Road Vrindavan is located about 185 kilometers from Delhi. It takes around 3 hours to reach via Yamuna Expressway and NH 44. State transport buses run regularly from major cities of Uttar Pradesh to Mathura. Private pilgrimage buses are also available for devotees coming to Vrindavan and Mathura.
