This Vat Savitri Amavasya, Stay on the path that Savitri’s Devotion followed, Protect your husband’s life, secure your family’s happiness before this sacred moment passes.

Vat Savitri Amavasya is a deeply sacred vrat observed by married women for the long life, protection, and well-being of their husbands. Rooted in Sanatan Dharma, this day symbolizes unwavering devotion and the power of a wife’s sankalp to safeguard her family. It is believed that through sincere vrat, pujan, and prayers on this Amavasya, a woman can strengthen the protective shield around her husband and home, inviting longevity, stability, and peace into her married life.

The Divine Story of Savitri’s Unshakeable Devotion
As described in the Puranas, the significance of this vrat comes from the legendary story of Devi Savitri and her husband Satyavan. When Satyavan’s destined time of death arrived, Savitri’s devotion did not waver. She followed Bhagwan Yamraj Himself and, through her unwavering faith, intelligence, and spiritual strength, compelled Him to restore her husband’s life.

This extraordinary incident took place under the sacred Vat Vriksha (Banyan tree), which since then has been worshipped as a symbol of immortality, strength, and eternal marital bond. This story is not just a tale of the past—it reflects a timeless truth that sincere devotion and determination can overcome even the greatest hardships in life.

Why This Amavasya Holds Immense Power
It is an eternal truth that every being born on earth must one day face death. Yet, Vat Savitri Amavasya stands as a rare spiritual moment that signifies protection against suffering and blessings for extended life. Scriptures highlight this day as highly auspicious for invoking divine protection for one’s partner and restoring balance within the family.

Worshipping the Vat tree, performing Vishnu Havan, and offering Jal Daan are considered especially powerful on this day. These rituals are believed to strengthen the roots of family life, reduce ongoing struggles, and bring emotional and physical well-being to one’s partner.

Invoke Protection, Peace, and Longevity Through Sacred Rituals
By performing Vat Vriksha Pujan, devotees align with the divine energies of the Trimurti represented in the Banyan tree. Tying the sacred thread around it symbolizes a prayer for an unbreakable marital bond and lasting happiness. The Vishnu Havan invokes divine protection and sustenance, while offering 11 Kalash Jal Daan is believed to pacify hardships and bring calmness to the household.

This sacred combination of rituals channels the same power that empowered Savitri—creating a spiritual kavach for your partner’s health, your family’s peace, and a future filled with togetherness and blessings.

Through this special puja, Sri Mandir offers a way to connect with these divine energies, helping you seek blessings for your husband’s long life, protection from difficulties, and harmony within your home.

Shri Yamunotri Dham,Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand
Our pandit ji suggests offering Anna Seva, Gau Seva and Deep Seva during this vrat and puja can bless you, your family with devine grace of god.

Yamunotri Dham, the ideal starting point for the sacred Chota Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand, is a place where pilgrims receive blessings for a safe and spiritually enriching journey. Dedicated to Goddess Yamuna, the temple stands in the Uttarkashi district, alongside the beautiful River Yamuna. A unique ritual at Yamunotri involves cooking potatoes and rice in the hot spring of Surya Kund, near the temple. Devotees offer these cooked items at the temple, and the rice is taken home as Prasad.

The original temple is believed to have been constructed by Maharani Guleria of Jaipur in the 19th century, although some sources suggest it was built by Maharaja Pratap Shah of Tehri Garhwal. Over time, the temple has undergone several renovations due to damage from natural elements. According to legend, the Sage Asit Muni, who lived in the area and bathed daily in both the Ganges and Yamuna Rivers. In his old age, when he could no longer travel to Gangotri, a stream of the Ganges miraculously appeared near Yamunotri for him. Additionally, Goddess Yamuna is considered the daughter of Surya Dev (the Sun God) and the sister of Yama (the God of Death). Worshipping Yamuna is believed to please both the Sun God and Yama, offering devotees protection and blessings.
