It is said that the marriage of Shiva and Parvati took place in this huge havan kund (sacrificial fire pit), where fire was lit in all four directions. All deities and saints, including Brahma and Vishnu, participated in this divine wedding ceremony. Devotees still take the ashes of this havan kund to their homes and consider it a blessing for a happy married life. The name Triyuginarayan was given because signs of three yugas are seen here, representing the divine connection between Lord Vishnu, Shiva, and Parvati. Four important kunds are located in this temple complex: Rudrakund, Vishnu Kund, Brahmakund, and Saraswati Kund. The water of these kunds is considered very sacred, and this is the place where the deities bathed during the marriage of Shiva-Parvati. Specifically, the water of the Saraswati Kund is believed to originate from the navel of Vishnu, which further increases its religious importance.
