Navratri Prarambh Shiv-Shakti Vrisharudha Special Shiv Shakti Vrishabha Pujan and Shiv-Sampurna Vrisharudha Havan for Blessing of Unparalleled Strength to Fulfil all Desires

In Sanatan Dharma, Navratri holds immense significance. This nine-day festival is dedicated to the worship of the nine forms of Goddess Durga. On the first day of Navratri, the worship of Maa Shailputri is observed. The word ‘Shail’ means Himalaya, and since Goddess Parvati was born as the daughter of King Himalaya, she is called Shailaputri. Maa Shailaputri’s form is extremely peaceful and simple. She is also known as Vrisharudha because her vehicle is a bull, Nandi. Nandi is considered a symbol of strength and diligence, representing unmatched power. Nandi's devotion to Lord Shiva is unparalleled. This is why, even today, before entering the sanctum of Lord Shiva, devotees whisper their prayers into Nandi’s ears, as it is believed that Nandi conveys their prayers directly to Lord Shiva. When Goddess Sati took the form of Maa Shailaputri, it was Nandi who recognized her, and thus he became her vehicle.

According to the Devi Bhagavata Purana, Prajapati Daksha organised a grand yagya and invited all the gods and goddesses, but he deliberately excluded his son-in-law, Lord Shiva, and his daughter, Sati. Despite Lord Shiva's advice not to attend, Goddess Sati went to her father's yagya. Angered by the disrespect shown to Lord Shiva, she destroyed the yagya and offered herself into the yagya, ending her life. Enraged, Lord Shiva killed Daksha and entered into deep meditation. Later, Goddess Sati was reborn as Goddess Parvati, also known as Maa Shailaputri, in the house of King Himalaya. After years of rigorous penance, she reunited with Lord Shiva as her husband in her form as Shailaputri. This is why, on the day of Maa Shailaputri during Navratri, performing the Shiv Shakti Vrishabha Pujan and Shiv-Sampurna Vrisharudha Havan is considered highly powerful. Through this puja, one can receive the blessings of Maa Shailaputri, along with Lord Shiva and Nandi. Hence, on the auspicious beginning of Navratri, this grand ritual will be organized at the Etteluthuperumal Temple in Tirunelveli. Participate in the special Shiva-Shakti Vrishabh Puja and Shiva-Sampurna Vrisharudha Havan through Sri Mandir and seek the divine blessings of Maa Shailputri, Lord Shiva, and Nandi for the fulfilment of all desires and the grace of extraordinary power.

The Etteluthuperumal Temple, located in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, is a revered shrine imbued with deep spiritual significance. Established 120 years ago by the esteemed sage Mayandi Siddhar, the temple is a testament to enduring tradition and devotion. Sage Mayandi Siddhar constructed the temple following a profound meditation and vision of Lord Ram. The temple has witnessed numerous miracles, including the main statue of Lord Perumal, which was sculpted by an ordinary person with no formal knowledge of sculpture. The temple houses several sacred idols, including the notable Sphatika Lingam made of pure clear quartz.

According to the Shastras, worshipping the Sphatika Lingam is believed to imbue devotees with confidence, self-worth, and power, while alleviating worries and negative influences. This Sphatika Lingam is particularly significant as it is one of the largest in India, after the one in Rishikesh.
