The history of Pishach Mochan Kund is very ancient. It is said that this pilgrimage site existed even before the descent of the Ganga. This Kund is connected to the story of a Brahmin who became a Pishach (demon) due to his actions. Under the guidance of Maharishi Valmiki, he worshipped Kapardeshwar Mahadev and bathed in the Kund to get liberation. Since then, this place became famous by the name Pishach Mochan.
Meanwhile, Assi Ghat, Kashi, also called Varanasi or Banaras, is situated on the banks of the holy Ganga and Assi Ghat is one of its most revered spiritual sites. Pilgrims coming from the country and abroad come here to take a holy dip in the Ganga. They believe that this bath washes away sins and opens the path to salvation.
