When Lord Shiva, lost in grief, carried her body and performed the Tandava, Lord Vishnu used his Sudarshan Chakra to save the universe from destruction. Pieces of Maa Sati's body fell to earth, and each place became a center of immense divine power, a Shaktipeeth. It is believed that at Tarapith, the pupil of her eye fell; at Kalighat, her right toes; and at the site of Maa Lalita's temple, her finger. Worshipping at these sites connects a devotee directly to the source of Maa's divine strength and protective grace.

On Saptami, prayers will be offered at Maa Tarapith Shaktipeetha, seeking Maa Tara's divine vision to see and destroy all hidden enemies and dangers. On Ashtami, we will pray to Maa Kalika at the revered Kalighat Shaktipeetha, asking her to remove all fear, darkness, and misfortune. On the final day of Navami, worship will be offered to Maa Lalita for blessings of happiness and peace, followed by a 108 Kanya Bhojan, which is considered one of the highest forms of devotion to the Goddess, multiplying the blessings of the puja for you and your family.
