As per a fascinating legend, Lord Shiva, after traveling through all three worlds, chooses to rest here at night. It is believed that this is the only place on Earth where Shiva and Parvati play the traditional game of Chaupar (dice) every night. After the night worship (Shayan Aarti), a Chaupar board is set up inside the sanctum and the inner shrine is sealed.
