Navratri Maha Ashtami Bhairav-Shakti Special 1,00,008 Bhairav Ashtakshari Mantra Jaap and Navdurga Kalash Abhishek for Dual Energy Blessing to overcome Challenges in Life

In Hinduism, Navratri holds special significance. Navaratri is a nine-day festival dedicated to the worship of nine forms of Maa Durga. It is one of the most important festivals for Hindus, celebrated with immense devotion across India. Each day of Navratri is associated with a specific form of the Goddess, and the eighth day or Ashtami is dedicated to the worship of Mahagauri. Maa Durga is also worshipped on this day because she killed the demon Mahishasura. It is believed that worshipping Maa Durga on this day fulfils all wishes and receives blessings to overcome challenges in life. At the same time, worshipping Lord Bhairav on this day is also considered highly significant because Lord Bhairav is a fierce manifestation of Lord Shiva, while Durga is a powerful manifestation of Maa Parvati. In tantra Shastra, Lord Bhairav and Maa Durga are described as extremely powerful and significant. It is believed that during this time, Maa Durga and Kaal Bhairav protect the devotee from harm. Additionally, their worship helps eliminate all types of external and tantric obstacles. According to ancient scriptures, when Lord Shiva was establishing the 51 Shaktipeeths of Devi, the Asuras became fearful of their existence and tried to destroy these Shaktipeeths. Knowing this, Lord Shiva assigned the duty of protecting these Shaktipeeths to his Bhairav incarnation. Since then, it is believed that only after receiving the permission from Lord Bhairav, one can get Darshan and divine blessings from Devi Maa.

According to the scriptures, performing 1,00,008 Bhairav Ashtakshari Mantra Jaap during Navratri is considered highly significant. This mantra consists of eight syllables (Ashtakshari) that carry the essence of Bhairava's energy and protection. In the holy city of Kashi, it is considered that a devotee's worship is incomplete without the darshan of Bhairav. Hence 1,00,008 Bhairav Ashtakshari Mantra Jaap will be conducted at Shri Batuk Bhairav Temple in Kashi. Along with this mantra jaap performing Navdurga Kalash Abhishek is also considered highly auspicious. It is a significant ritual performed during the Navratri, which honours the nine forms of Goddess Durga, collectively known as Navdurga. This ritual involves the installation of a Kalash (a sacred pot) and performing an abhishek (ritual bathing) to invoke divine blessings for health, prosperity, and protection from evil forces. This Abhishek will be conducted at the revered Shri Durga Kund Temple in Kashi (Varanasi), a location renowned for its spiritual significance. It is believed that by performing these pujas, one can receive dual energy blessings to overcome challenges in life. Therefore, on Navratri Ashtami, participate in the 1,00,008 Bhairav Ashtakshari Mantra Jaap and Navdurga Kalash Abhishek through Sri Mandir and receive the divine blessings of Lord Bhairav and Maa Durga.

Situated in Kashi (Varanasi), the city of Lord Shiva, is the Shri Batuk Bhairav Temple. Lord Kaal Bhairav, a fierce form of Shiva, is revered at this sacred site. The bal roop (child form) of Lord Kaal Bhairav is known as Batuk Bhairav. Lord Bhairav is worshipped at this temple for eradication of poverty, and the purpose of Swarna-Akarshan Bhairav Mantra Jaap generally revolves around attracting or invoking the blessings of Lord Bhairav for wealth, prosperity and abundance. Swarna-Akarshan Bhairav is another avatar of Lord Bhairav. Just as gold is found deep within the earth, similarly, Swarna-Akarshan Bhairav resides in the netherworld. Milk and dried fruits are offered to Him. The description of the greatness of Swarna-Akarshan Bhairav was first detailed by Lord Shiva and Nandi in Shri Rudrayamala Tantra, and later, Nandi revealed it to Sage Markandeya to eradicate poverty in the human realm.

In the city of Lord Shiva, Kashi, there is the revered Shri Durga Kund Temple, where Goddess Adishakti Durga resides in an invisible form. It is believed to be an ancient temple and is considered one of the oldest temples in Kashi. The mention of this temple is also found in the Skanda Purana's Kashi Khanda. In this temple, Goddess Durga is manifested in the form of a Yantra. The renovation of this temple was carried out in the 17th century by Queen Bhavani. The temple has a pond known as Durga Kund. According to legends, it is said that after defeating Shumbha and Nishumbha, Goddess Durga rested here. Devotees believe that Goddess Durga resides here in her fourth form, Kushmanda. That's why during the Shardiya Navaratri, countless devotees from all corners of the country come here to pay their respects, perform worship, and seek blessings for their desires to be fulfilled.
