Toli Ekadashi, also known as Shayana Ekadashi, is one of the most powerful days dedicated to Lord Narayan, the preserver of the universe. As mentioned in the Bhavishya Purana and Padma Purana, this day marks the moment when Lord Narayan and Lkashmi enter a four-month cosmic sleep (Yoga Nidra) on the Ksheer Sagar (Ocean of Milk), beginning a period called Chaturmasya. During this period, most auspicious ceremonies, especially marriages and its related rituals, are traditionally paused.
But just before this divine rest begins, Lord Narayan and Goddess Lakshmi are believed to be fully awake and deeply attentive to their devoteesā prayers.
