The city of Gaya in Bihar, also known as Bodh Gaya, holds exceptional importance for Pind Daan. Performing Pind Daan and Tarpan at this sacred place is believed to grant liberation to ancestors, which is why Gaya is also referred to as a Moksha Sthali. It is believed that apart from Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh, all deities reside at this sacred land. The significance of Gaya can be understood by the fact that Shraadh rituals and Pind Daan for King Dasharathaās soul were performed on the banks of the Phalgu River here.
