It is said that the marriage of Shiva and Parvati took place in this large Havan Kund, in which fire was lit in all four directions. All the Gods and Saints, including Brahma and Vishnu, participated in this divine marriage ceremony. Devotees still take the ashes of this Havan Kund to their homes, considering it a blessing for the happiness of their married life. The name Triyuginarayan was given for this reason because the signs of three ages are seen here, which represent the divine relationship of Lord Vishnu, Shiva and Parvati. Four important Kunds are located in this temple complex: Rudrakund, Vishnu Kund, Brahmakund and Saraswati Kund. The water of these Kunds is considered very sacred, and this is the place where the Gods bathed during the marriage of Shiva-Parvati. Especially, the water of Saraswati Kund is believed to have originated from the navel of Vishnu, which further increases its religious importance.
