Shani Dev Temple Kosi Kalan- This temple of Shani Dev is located in Kosikalan, near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh. According to ancient legends, when Lord Krishna was born in Brijmandal, all the deities came to see him. Among them was Shani Dev, but Mother Yashoda did not allow him to see Krishna. She feared that Shani Dev’s intense gaze might negatively affect the newborn Krishna. Disheartened, Shani Dev went to a forest near Nandgaon and began deep penance. Pleased by his devotion, Lord Krishna appeared before him.
Navgraha Shani Temple- Shri Navgraha Shani Temple in Ujjain is dedicated to the Navgrahas (nine planetary deities) with a special focus on Lord Shani (Saturn). Temples dedicated to Lord Shani are believed to be places where devotees seek protection from the malefic effects of Saturn and other planets, and find remedies for issues related to them in their Horoscopes. Perched on the banks of the swiftly flowing Kshipra River is the city of Ujjain which hosts Shri Navgraha Shani Temple, a creation attributed to King Vikramaditya. The king is believed to have erected this temple following his relief from the malefic effects of Saturn's Saade Saati.
Shani Dev Hathla- The Hathla Shani Dev Temple, located in Hathla village of Devbhoomi Dwarka district in Gujarat, is full of ancient and mythological significance. This temple is believed to be from the 7th and 8th century and is included in the list of monuments protected by the Department of Archaeology. Hathla temple is called the birthplace of Shani Dev, because Shani Dev was born here. This is the only Shani temple in India where all the deities are seated in a gentle form (Saumya Rup) and Shani Dev is adorned in saffron color, which shows his compassionate form. Hathla Shani Dev Temple is not only a center of religious faith but also holds significance from historical and mythological perspectives.
Shani Dev Temple Morena- The Shani Dev Temple in Morena, usually called Shanichara Temple, is considered highly significant because devotees believe it is one of the oldest and most powerful shrines dedicated to Lord Shani.
