However, seeing her sister's joy, Sudha became jealous and cruelly killed the child, throwing the body into the pond. Even after learning of this tragic event, Ghushma did not lose her faith and continued worshiping Shiva calmly. Deeply moved by her devotion, Lord Shiva appeared, revived her son, and asked her to request a boon. Ghushma forgave her sister and requested Shiva to reside there eternally. The Lord agreed and declared He would be worshiped here as "Ghushmeshwar." Thus, Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga came into being. Even today, devotees perform 101 circumambulations of the temple, believing that where there is true faith, God Himself manifests.
