To receive his grace, a special Mahamrityunjay Maha Anushthan is being organized by Sri Mandir, which will be performed at the sacred Omkareshwar Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of India. On this holy day, the Mahamrityunjay Mantra will be chanted 11,000 times. It is believed that this ritual grants devotees the blessings of mental peace, physical health, and long life. Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga is especially considered a place that grants health and longevity. Situated on the banks of the Narmada River, this place is famous for its divine and healing power.
On this day, Panchamrit Rudrabhishek of Lord Shiva will also be performed, in which Lord Shiva is consecrated with milk, curd, ghee, honey, and sugar. This method is considered a symbol of purification of the body and soul. When the Mahamrityunjay Mantra jaap and Rudrabhishek are performed together, the atmosphere becomes extremely positive, peaceful, and powerful, which is helpful in overcoming health-related problems.

According to a mythological story, Bholenath (Lord Shiva) comes here to rest at night after traveling through the three worlds. It is said that this is the only temple on earth where Shiva-Parvati play Chaupar (dice game) daily. After the evening Shayan Aarti (sleep ritual), dice are spread here every day and the inner sanctum is closed.
