Maa Katyayani Shaktipeeth temple located in Vrindavan, Mathura, is one of the 51 famous Shaktipeeths. This temple is dedicated to Maa Parvati in her Katyayani form. It is said that this temple was established on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Magh. A saint named Keshavanand Maharaj, who was a great devotee of Maa Katyayani, built it. According to him, in a dream, Devi ordered him to come to Vrindavan and build a temple. According to mythological stories, this place also came in the same sequence where Shaktipeeths were formed by the falling of the body parts of Mata Sati. Since Mata Sati's hair fell here, it is considered a special Shaktipeeth.
Maa Brajeshwari Devi Shaktipeeth:
Maa Brajeshwari Devi Temple in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh is one of the 51 Shaktipeeths. It is believed that Maa Sati's left breast fell at this holy place, due to which this place became famous as a Shaktipeeth. It is said that the original construction of this temple was done by the Pandavas. Due to its immense prosperity, it was looted many times by invaders in history, among whom the name of Mahmud Ghazni is particularly noteworthy.
