The Kalighat Temple, located in Kolkata, West Bengal, is one of the 51 Shaktipeethas in Hinduism and is considered a very sacred pilgrimage site. Shri Krodhan Bhairav Temple (Kashi)
This temple in Kashi is very ancient. The city of Kashi is divided into two parts — Vishweshwar Khand and Kedareswar Khand. To protect these two regions, two forms of Bhairav are present. Lord Kaal Bhairav guards the Vishweshwar Khand, while Lord Krodhan Bhairav and Batuk Bhairav protect the Kedareswar Khand.It is said that Lord Krishna once sent Bhima here to perform penance for the protection of Indraprastha. Through the blessings of Lord Krodhan Bhairav and Batuk Bhairav, Indraprastha remained safe. Lord Krodhan Bhairav is still believed to protect His devotees from negative energies, fear, and enemies.
