The Arogya Murti Dhanvantari Shakti Havan is a fire ritual dedicated to Lord Dhanvantari. In Sanatan Dharma, Lord Dhanvantari is considered an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. According to an ancient story from religious texts, Lord Dhanvantari emerged during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan). When Dhanvantari sought divine status from Lord Vishnu, Vishnu explained that he arrived slightly late and therefore could not be granted immediate divine status. However, he blessed Dhanvantari, stating that in the Dwapara Yuga, he would be born into a royal family on earth, become renowned, and be worshipped in all three worlds. As a result of this boon, Lord Dhanvantari was born in the city of Kashi (Varanasi), the abode of Lord Shiva, as the son of King Dhanva of the royal lineage of Kashi. Under the guidance of Sage Bharadwaj, he revived Ayurveda and divided it into eight branches. Known as the deity of health and well-being, Lord Dhanvantari possessed complete knowledge of all medical treatments.
