One of the most famous incidents highlighting his title as Sankat Mochan is when he brought the Sanjeevani Booti to save Lakshman’s life during the war with Ravana. Despite obstacles like the demon Kalanemi, Hanuman’s intelligence and devotion ensured that Lakshman was saved, earning him eternal reverence as the ultimate problem solver and protector. According to ancient beliefs, Lord Hanuman was born on a Tuesday, making it an auspicious day for his worship. Therefore, Tuesday is considered the perfect day to seek Hanuman’s blessings to overcome obstacles, gain inner strength, and find relief from challenges in life.
In Kaliyuga, Lord Hanuman, the eternal Chiranjivi (immortal), is believed to be most pleased by the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa, written by Goswami Tulsidas. The Hanuman Chalisa, comprising 40 verses in praise of Lord Hanuman, is regarded as one of the most effective ways to seek his blessings. Devotees believe that chanting the Chalisa protects them from hardships and negative energies. Scriptures also emphasise the importance of combining the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa with the Hanuman Ashtak, which is said to double its benefits.
