In Kaliyuga, Lord Hanuman, the eternal Chiranjivi (immortal), is believed to be most pleased by the recitation of the Hanuman Chalisa, written by Goswami Tulsidas. The Hanuman Chalisa, comprising 40 verses in praise of Lord Hanuman, is regarded as one of the most effective ways to seek his blessings. Devotees believe that chanting the Chalisa protects them from hardships and negative energies.
