🔱 The Kamal Gatta Mahayajna included in this ritual is a sacred fire offering performed to receive the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi. The lotus seed (Kamal Gatta) is considered highly dear to the Goddess, as She herself resides on a lotus. During this Mahayajna, lotus seeds are offered into the sacred fire along with the chanting of the Lakshmi Beej Mantra. It is believed that this ritual attracts wealth, fortune, and lasting prosperity to one’s home. It is also said to help remove negative energies, debts, and financial obstacles. When performed with devotion, the Kamal Gatta Mahayajna can bring happiness, peace, and progress in life.
🔱 The combined worship of Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu is called Hari-Hara Aradhana, which has been described in detail in the scriptures. This puja is a divine medium to receive the blessings of both the preserver (Vishnu) and the destroyer (Shiva). The scriptures state that wherever both these deities are worshiped together, life’s obstacles, mental distress, and family conflicts gradually dissolve. This ritual helps restore balance in both mind and life. The puja will be conducted at the Shri Gauri-Kedareshwar Mahadev Temple, a site of great spiritual significance. According to ancient legends, King Mandhata of Lord Rama’s lineage was a devout devotee of Lord Shiva. He used to visit Kedarnath regularly and offer khichdi to Lord Shiva. Following the divine command of Lord Shiva, he performed intense penance in Varanasi. Pleased with his devotion, Lord Shiva manifested from the khichdi as a Shivling, now known as Gauri Kedareshwar. The Shivling here is composed of two parts, symbolizing Hari-Hara — the union of Vishnu and Shiva.
