With the same sentiment, a special event is being organized at Shri Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga during the Pradosh Kaal on Monday, which is considered the most auspicious time for worshipping Lord Shiva. This event includes the Maha Rudrabhishek with 21 divine substances and the chanting of the Panchakshari Mantra "Om Namah Shivay" 1008 times. The 21 substances that will be used in this special Abhishek include water, milk, curd, ghee, honey, Ganga Jal (Ganga water), Belpatra, sandalwood, flowers, coconut water, sugarcane juice, Bhasma, fruits, Akshat (rice grains), mustard oil, lemon juice, rose water, turmeric water, wheat, etc. All these substances represent different aspects of life such as health, prosperity, relationships, and mental peace.

According to a mythological story, Bholenath (Lord Shiva) comes here to sleep at night after traveling the three worlds. It is said that this is the only temple on Earth where Shiva-Parvati play Chausar (a game of dice) every day. After the Shayan Aarti (evening prayer) at night, Chaupar (the cloth for the game) is spread daily and the Garbhagriha (sanctum sanctorum) is closed.
