Ramghat is situated on the banks of the Kshipra River in Ujjain City, Madhya Pradesh, India. The Kshipra River is considered the Ganges of Lord Mahakal. This is among the most popular places to visit in Ujjain, as this is where the very famous Kumbh Mela is held every 12 years. Many devotees come here to perform rituals and worship for the salvation of their ancestors. Kalasarpa dosh puja and Rahu-Ketu pacification puja are also performed here.
History of the temple
According to Hindu mythologies, during the churning of the ocean (Samudra Manthan), a few drops of nectar fell into a beautiful Kund near the banks of the Kshipra River, which enhances the significance of the Kshipra River.
