It is said that the marriage of Shiva and Parvati took place in this huge havan kund (sacrificial fire pit), where fire was lit in all four directions. All deities and saints, including Brahma and Vishnu, participated in this divine wedding ceremony. The water of these kunds is considered very sacred, and this is the place where the deities bathed during the marriage of Shiva-Parvati. Specifically, the water of the Saraswati Kund is believed to originate from the navel of Vishnu, which further increases its religious importance.
