🕉️ In this ritual, Tripindi Shradh and Pind Daan are special Vedic methods. In Tripindi Shradh, three pinds made of sesame, rice, and Kusha grass are offered for the father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. It is believed that this satisfies the souls of ancestors and their blessings are received by the family.
In Pind Daan, pinds made of rice, sesame, flowers, and water are offered in a holy river or pilgrimage site. This is considered very effective for Pitru Dosha Shanti and is believed to help in bringing peace and balance to life.
🌿 Along with this, Til Tarpan is an important Vedic process in which Tarpan is offered to ancestors with Kusha, sesame, water, and mantras. This Tarpan will be performed with proper rituals by Sri Mandir at the Dharmaranya Vedi in Gaya. 🛕 Mythological Story related to Gaya (Garuda Purana)
According to the Garuda Purana, Lord Brahma told Maharishi Vyas that there was a demon named Gaya who performed severe penance and started causing trouble to gods and humans. The gods sought help from Lord Vishnu. Lord Vishnu enchanted him with his Maya and finally killed him with his mace.
After this, Lord Vishnu declared that the land of Gaya would now be known as a holy pilgrimage site, where Shradh, Yagya, and Pind Daan performed would bring merit and the attainment of higher realms to the seeker.

The city of Gaya in Bihar, also known as Bodh Gaya, is considered a very holy and important place for Pind Daan. It is believed that performing Pind Daan and Tarpan here gives peace to ancestors; therefore, this place is called Moksha Sthali. It is mentioned in the scriptures that apart from Brahma, Vishnu, and Mahesh, all gods are believed to reside here. The importance of Gaya is also understood from the fact that Shradh and Pind Daan were performed on the banks of the Falgu River for the peace of King Dasharatha's soul. Descriptions of Gaya are also found in the Vayu Purana, Garuda Purana, and Vishnu Purana.
The tradition of Tarpan and Pind Daan has been going on since ancient times at the holy Pind Vedis located around Gaya. According to the Skanda Purana, during the Mahabharata war, Yudhishthira performed Pind Daan at Dharmaranya Vedi for the peace of those who attained martyrdom in the war. Among the five holy Vedis, Dharmaranya Vedi is considered the most important. Performing Pind Daan and Tripindi Shradh here gives peace to souls and is believed to help in reducing obstacles related to Pitru Dosha.
