Triyuginarayan Temple is an ancient and sacred place located in Triyuginarayan village in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand, and it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is located on the route to Kedarnath, and its structure is considered similar to the Kedarnath temple. According to religious belief, this place was the capital of King Himavat, and this is where Lord Shiva and Maa Parvati were married. It is said that their divine wedding took place in a large havan kund, where sacred fire was lit in all four directions. Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu, and all gods and sages were present at this divine wedding. Even today, devotees take the sacred ash from this havan kund with them and consider it a blessing for a happy married life.
The temple is named Triyuginarayan because signs of three yugas are believed to be found here, which represent the divine connection of Lord Vishnu, Lord Shiva, and Maa Parvati. There are four sacred kunds in the temple complex - Rudra Kund, Vishnu Kund, Brahma Kund, and Saraswati Kund. The water of these kunds is considered very sacred because it is believed that the gods bathed here during the wedding of Shiva and Parvati. It is especially believed that the water of Saraswati Kund originated from the navel of Lord Vishnu, which further increases its spiritual significance.
