It is said that the marriage of Shiva and Parvati happened in this vast Havan Kund, in which fire was lit in all four directions. All the deities and saints including Brahma, Vishnu participated in this divine marriage ceremony. The ash of this Havan Kund is taken home by devotees even today, and they consider it a blessing for their married life to be happy. The name Triyuginarayan was given for this reason because the signs of three eras are seen here, which depict the divine relations of Lord Vishnu, Shiva and Parvati. Four important Kunds are situated in this temple complex: Rudrakund, Vishnu Kund, Brahmakund and Saraswati Kund. The water of these Kunds is considered very holy, and this is the place where the deities bathed during the marriage of Shiva-Parvati. Especially, the water of Saraswati Kund is believed to originate from the navel of Vishnu, which further increases its religious importance..
