Kashi – Known as the city of Moksha, Kashi’s Pishach Mochan Kund holds special significance for Pitru Shanti. As mentioned in the Garuda Purana and Kashi Khand, offering Pind Daan and Tarpan at this sacred pond helps fulfill the unfulfilled desires of departed souls and grants them ultimate peace. According to an ancient legend, a Brahmin who had taken birth in the form of a spirit attained liberation here after bathing and worshipping Lord Shiva. Since then, this pond came to be known as Pishach Mochan and became a key site for relief from Pitru Dosha.
Gokarna Kshetra - Located on the coast of Karnataka, Gokarna is considered an extremely powerful spiritual destination. The Kotitirtha and the confluence of the Arabian Sea here are especially sacred for performing Pitru rituals. It is believed that Tripindi Shraddha, Tarpan, and Pind Daan performed at this site reach the ancestors directly and grant momentum to their souls. Scriptures also connect Gokarna with the story of Ravana’s establishment of the Shiva Linga and his penance, adding to its spiritual importance.
Rameshwaram Ghat – This site is associated with the Ramayana era. According to belief, after slaying Ravana, Lord Rama worshipped a Shiva Linga made of sand at this place to free himself of karmic guilt. Hence, Rameshwaram is considered highly auspicious for Dosha Nivaran, Shraddha, and Pind Daan. Performing rituals here, especially after bathing in the sacred Tirtha Kunds, is believed to wash away sins and guide departed souls toward the path of liberation.
