The Shani Shingnapur Temple is a renowned temple located in the Ahmednagar district, about 65 kilometers from Shirdi. This temple, dedicated to Lord Shani, is considered a living temple. According to local legends, around 300 years ago, a black stone was discovered on the banks of the Panasnala River, which flowed through the village. When touched, the stone began to bleed. That very night, Lord Shani appeared in the village head's dream and revealed that the stone was his idol. He instructed that the stone be placed openly in the village, without any roof or walls enclosing it. The Shri Shaneshwar Devasthan Shani Shingnapur is now one of the most famous temples in India. Beyond the temple, the village of Shingnapur is also well known for its unique traditionānone of the houses in the village have doors, and yet, there are no incidents of theft. It is widely believed that the village is under Lord Shaniās divine protection, and anyone who attempts to steal is divinely punished. It is said that merely having darshan (sacred viewing) of Shaniās idol here can remove the ill effects of Shani Dosha.
