Shraadh Dwitiya is the second day of Pitru Paksha, when we perform a special Shraadh for the peace of the souls of ancestors who passed away on the Dwitiya tithi of the Hindu calendar. This day is considered very important for removing Pitru Dosha and bringing peace to the family. On this day, we express gratitude to our ancestors and perform special pujas to guide our lives in the right direction with their blessings. This day is thought to be very fruitful for the peace and salvation of the ancestors' souls. It is believed that through rituals like Tarpan and Pind Daan on this day, we can receive their blessings.
Falgu Ghat, located in Gaya, is a very holy place, considered especially divine for Pitru Tarpan and Pind Daan. The rituals performed here are effective in removing Pitru Dosha and clearing obstacles for the family. The religious importance of Falgu Ghat is further increased because it is the same place where Lord Vishnu offered Tarpan to his ancestors and helped them attain salvation. Therefore, on the day of Shraadh Dwitiya, a Tripindi Shraadh is being organized here, in which Pindas made of sesame seeds, rice, and Kusha grass are offered for three generations: the father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. This satisfies the souls of the ancestors, and their blessings are believed to open the path to prosperity and peace in the family.
In addition to this, during Pind Daan, a Pind made of rice, sesame seeds, water, and flowers is offered at a holy river or pilgrimage site, which is considered an effective way to remove Pitru Dosha.
